The launch of Outdoor Education at SJB

We are excited to share the launch of a brand-new area of our curriculum here at SJB: Outdoor Education.
Outdoor Education will enrich learning through collaborative, hands-on activities connecting students with nature, fostering personal development, and promoting well-being outside of the classroom. We are pleased to share that Mr Birch will be leading this new initiative as our Head of Outdoor Education.
We are currently seeking funding, materials, and expertise to help us get started and we need the support of our whole community. Initial needs include:
- Fencing to create safe and secure, clearly defined outdoor learning zones
- A canopy to provide shelter in our forest area to allow all weather learning
- An Equipment Store to safely store tools and equipment
We warmly invite you to get involved in any of the following ways:
- Financial Donations – All contributions, large or small, will go directly to setup and development of our Outdoor Education provision. Please click HERE to make a one-time or regular financial donation.
- Materials & Supplies – From tools to timber, any relevant donated items will be gratefully received.
- Skills & Expertise – Are you in a trade or have practical skills to share? We welcome help with projects or delivery of workshops for our students.
For practical donations or offers of support, please contact Mr. Birch at t.birch@sjb.surrey.sch.uk
