Sixth Form Admissions
Thank you for your interest. The deadline for all applications to study start at SJB Sixth Form College from September 2027 is 9am on Monday 4 January 2027.
Current Year 11 SJB students
Current SJB students must complete an application form before the deadline if they wish to take up their place within the Sixth Form College. The link to this form can be found below (following the Open Evening in October), however they will require the username and password that will be emailed to them following on from our October Open Evening.
There will be a Year 12 Taster Day in the first half of the spring term when students will have the opportunity to spend the day in the College sampling some A Level or Vocational Qualification lessons for the subjects of their choice.
Just before February half term, all students in Year 11 will meet with a member of the School Leadership Team as part of the next steps process; post-16 options and their place in the Sixth Form will form part of this discussion.
In order to take up a place in the Sixth Form at SJB, students must meet the minimum entry requirements for the Sixth Form College.
Students not currently studying at SJB
We welcome applications from any students who are not currently studying at SJB. Please complete the application form linked below before the deadline stated (the application form will be live after our Open Evening in October).
New students will be invited to attend an interview with a member of School Leadership Team following on from their application. We conduct interview in late-Feb to early-March and will be in touch with candidates once the deadline has passed.
Please note, we receive a large number of applications each year for limited spaces. Due to the amount of planning and preparation involved we request that all candidates attend their allocated interview slot as we cannot guarantee an alternative.
Offers will be made following the interview days; candidates will generally hear via email withing 3 working weeks following their interview.

Admissions Policy
Admission to SJB Sixth Form is dependent on getting a grade 5 in English and Maths plus any other three grade 4s.
Individual courses have their own entry requirements as outlined in our prospectus.
